Dear District Governor, Did you know you have a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) advocate in your District to help support you in reaching your goals? Most, if not all of the global health crises start with WASH.  Nearly 857 million people globally lack access to safe drinking water and 668 million lack access to health care facilities with basic sanitation, which could have prevented 1.4 million deaths (WHO 2024). The lack of access to WASH is an affront to human rights and dignity. It is the mission of the WASH Rotary Action Group (WASH-RAG) to support and ensure sustainable long-lasting clean water, sanitation, and hygiene programs to communities in need. WASH Rotary Action Group | long-lasting clean water, sanitation, and hygiene programs My name is XXX XXX, and as a WASH Ambassador for our it is my role to create awareness of this global health crisis and help Rotarians to get involved so that they can be part of the solution. As such, I am here to serve and work with you and District leadership to help increase awareness of global WASH crisis, as well as WASH programs, and to provide technical/logistical help for projects, or refer Rotarians to appropriate professionals.  I am writing to ask for your formal permission as an Ambassador in our District to engage with District xxxx Club Presidents in the coming Rotary year. With your permission, I would like to engage by presenting to Rotary Clubs and at District events, and to work with Clubs to promote, facilitate, and advocate for meaningful action on WASH programs at the community, regional and/or national level. As a WASH Ambassador my passion is to expand the awareness of WASH issues throughout the District and develop other Rotarians to be WASH advocates. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss further with you avenues to work with the District and Clubs to help develop and implement impactful, scalable, and sustainable WASH projects for communities in need. Thank you for your consideration. XXX XXXX WASH Ambassador District XXXX
