Dear President xxx, Did you know you have a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) advocate in your District to help support you in reaching your goals? Most, if not all, of the global health crises starts with WASH. Nearly 857 million people globally lack access to safe drinking water and 668 million lack access to health care facilities with basic sanitation, which could have prevented 1.4 million deaths (WHO 2024). The lack of access to WASH is an affront to human rights and dignity. It is the mission of the WASH Rotary Action Group (WASH-RAG) to support and ensure sustainable long-lasting clean water, sanitation, and hygiene programs to communities in need. My name is XXX XXX, the WASH Ambassador for your District. It is my role to create awareness of this global health crisis and help Rotarians get involved so that they can be part of the solution. As such, I am here to serve and work with you, your club, and District leadership to help increase awareness of global WASH crisis, as well as WASH programs, and to provide technical/logistical help for projects, or refer Rotarians to appropriate professionals. I would like to ask for an opportunity to speak to your club about the WASH -RAG and the global WASH crisis with the goal of increasing awareness, and perhaps engagement. Here is a link to examples of WASH projects around the globe https://www.wash-rag.org/projects/. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, XXX XXXX WASH Ambassador District XXXX
